There is currently a shortage of the yellow fever vaccine in Canada. Travellers should contact the Porcupine Health Unit well in advance to inquire about whether or not Yellow Fever vaccine is required. The Porcupine Health Unit will then be able to advise you on your options including possibly travelling out of town to receive the yellow fever vaccine.
Measles is an infection that spreads very easily. Measles spreads through the air when an infected person breaths, coughs, or sneezes. It can survive in the air for up to two hours. Measles can be spread from four days before the rash appears until four days after the onset of the rash.
To best protect against severe sickness or hospital stays, everyone should ensure their vaccinations are up to date.
